My Fussy Eater

My children are known for their ability to demolish a fruit bowl and a loaf of bread simultaneously.  They’ll knock down a few green juices and ask for more. Twenty minutes later they’re “HUNGRY!” and I’ll set them up with a few bowls of nuts and some boiled eggs.

But lately….

Julian “DOES NOT LIKE THAT.” and he “DOES NOT LIKE THIS.”

And he cries.

My God does he cry.

A pin dropping at the table could set this kid off.

So pasta is out. All dairy is out (though to be fair he has never liked it.) Absolutely no vegetables (besides the ones in juices) will pass his lips.

Rice – YUCK.

Sushi – NO WAY

Grapes – EWWWWW

Meat – NOOOOOO

Chicken – I DON’T LIKE IT!

These are things he likes one day and will point blank refuse the next.

Look, it’s not like I am making a huge deal of it. “Don’t like it? You don’t get fed.”

The days of, “Try a little bit of everything on your plate and you can go.” are long gone.

It’s not his taste buds telling him he doesn’t like this, it’s his attitude.

So I’ve reduced the nuts and things that could be filling him up and left him to snack on fruit, “GROSS.”

I’ve thought about it and thought about it and this is the answer I have come up with.

I HATE THIS STAGE.

I cannot wait for it to be over and for my calm, happy little boy to return to me.

That is all.
