Mama’s night out!

Today’s Mantra: Know thyself by spending time alone

I can’t remember the last time I went out. I do go out all the time, dinners, friends, events….it’s just been a really, really long time since girl’s nights were held in a bar with dancing. Of course we organised it six weeks in advance and out of the 50 or so girls invited we ended up with nine. But we were happy to be going OUT!

My lovely Mother-in-law was having Julian for a sleepover and invited Daniel and Leo over for dinner. Woo hoo. They left at six which gave me two precious hours to get ready. As they reversed out I did a little happy dance, much to my husband’s amusement. I then turned on music videos and played them LOUD.

I think sometimes the best part of going out is that getting ready time. The anticipation, the time to yourself and of course the first glass of wine. Here is a picture of my dressing table that night, candles lit, ice-cold wine and drawers full of tools to make me beautiful!

So how was the night? Fun. We drank, we partied, we got hit on and afterwards we got a kebab and chips and headed home. Just like old times. Except I had the best rejection line…sorry I’ve got a husband and two kids. That sent them packing!
