Let’s Talk About Winning My Jude Blereau Competition

I am super-hyped up on caffeine this morning, I’ve had a baby wake at 5am, I cleaned my disaster of a house for the cleaner (who then texted to tell me she wasn’t coming) and I am working through a back log of emails, articles and general to-do’s.

I should really be thinking about the reason why I posted this photo on facebook titled LOVE

Photo: LOVE

Instead of the photo below (I think I had my wine goggles on)

Photo: Oops this is my love

But you know the only thing I can think about….

I think I have set up my first ever competition WRONG.

OOPS.

For starters I didn’t put a closing date.

Then I think I challenged you guys too much. It’s school holidays – you can barely read this post never mind send in your wholefood recipes.

So sorry disappoint you mad scientists concocting things in the kitchen and experimenting to win my open-ended competition but I’m giving it a re-haul.

Why?

Because NO ONE has entered.

Not one person.

Sooooo……if you would like to win Jude’s cookbook……you have a very GOOD chance.

This book, Wholefood Baking, includes recipes for:

Lemon-glazed blueberry scones

Coffee and walnut cake

World Peace Bar

Cherry Pie

Tahitian Lime curd and meringue tart

She also teaches you how to bake (hello – I need this book!) and how to make all these delicious concoctions NUTRITIOUS.

Now you see why I love this amazing woman.

So, although my ego is wounded from the lack of response, I am soldiering on.

Just comment on this post below and tell me why you want to win this book.

That is all you have to do.

Competition closes May 18th.

  1. Yay! Commenting I can do!
I would love, love, love to win this book because I love baking, I love healthy, yet I am a gumby in the kitchen without a recipe. My big girl is two now, and we do lots of cooking together, and I know this book would inspire us to make even healthier yummies for our morning tea.

  2. Haha! Thank you for your honesty!! Truth be told, I saw this competition and thought wow I really want to win a Jude Blereau book but then I thought when will I get the time or more to the point will Miss 3 and Master 1 allow me the time! Thank you for making my chances just a little bit easier.

    1. I was trying to be super-cool and act like i didn’t care that no one entered but I have been trying to be as honest as I can and kick my ego to the curb!! Yay I’m so glad you have entered!

    2. Opps, I forgot to say why! I just love cooking and with little ones my focus is preparing healthy and nutritious food for my family.

  3. Ha ha, I love your honest, funny style of writing! I missed your first launch of the competition, so I am delighted you have posted this amended version, thank you. Okay, so why I would LOVE to win this cookbook is because I have started (to the complete and utter shock of all who know me) to bake. I have NEVER baked before (I just about failed home economics at school) but with my oldest daughter starting school and requiring something interesting on a daily basis for morning tea, and my own food/health journey into additive-free eating, I’ve started to bake. And, to my complete and utter shock, I like it! I’m not a great cook, but actually, surprisingly I’m an okay baker. I find it easy. Follow the recipe and you’ll generally get good results. What I love about Jude Blereau’s book is the ingredients she uses, because I really try to provide nourishment to my girls when I feed them special treats. I love using cacao and coconut flour and rapadura sugar and ingredients that take away the guilt that my girls are eating cake! I’ve just started on my baking journey, so really, I need guidance! I think this book would provide that, as well as inspiration and that it would be a well loved asset in my kitchen.

  4. Hi Nic! Hope you’ve enjoyed your holidays x (hanging for Kindy as much as I am??:)) Anyhoo… I NEED this book! After experiencing my husband endure yet another panic attack on the weekend (he would die if he knew i was writing this :/ ), we have come to the conclusion that our lifestyle needs a serious overhaul! So….. before I stock my pantry with every organic, raw and wholefood I can put my hands on, I need advice from the experts and who better than the wonderful Jude Blereau?! I couldn’t believe when I saw this post this morning! It was like the universe was slapping me in the face yelling ” here’s your chance! It’s now or never! Get started already!” it’s amazing what you receive when you ask and if this isn’t a sign, then I don’t know what is??! Thankyou for giving me, and my family, the inspiration to do this and be the best we can be xxx

    1. Ooh points for sucking up!! Can’t wait to here about the conversation with the hubby. Should of probably said in my rules that I am drawing this randomly…funny how everyone has said I am amusing and amazing today hehe

  5. I would love to win this book because i seek food inspiration often. I think we have so many wonderful web sites for education on food and wellness but often the recipes are such a stretch from where we are at the begining of transformation it can be daunting. With a new baby on the way i have made it my mission to learn better cooking choices as i love cooking but want to keep it healthy. I always find your post funny and easy to relate to so thank you for your blog and thanks for the opportunity to win this book xx

  6. I would love to win this book for so many reasons!

I’m still learning to love myself and embrace a healthier lifestyle (your blog about your different eating habits over the years really resonated with me!)

I’m also a housewife on L- plates at the moment so if I can bust out some awesome wholefood baking, I might just be one step closer to negotiating myself a thermomix!!

  7. Haha I never entered because I thought it was not possible I could win, bummer I should have sent in a photo! Thankyou for your honesty, I love reading your blog. I would absolutely love to win Judes book as I waste so much money on crappy supermarket snackfood and I would love my kids to enjoy some of the homebaked goodies I did as a kid. πŸ™‚

  8. I was going to enter, truly! I was just thinking up a recipe! πŸ™‚ I recently bought a couple of Jude books and I am crazy in love with this lady. She is like the Margaret Fulton of healthy cooking. I would love to see what she is up to now. πŸ™‚

  9. Aww sad that no one entered the first time. I am useless at baking may be that’s why and why I could probably use the book!!
And completely not saying this to influence your decision but what a pretty mum you are!

  10. I would love the chance to win this book to help me slowly but surely transform my family’s lifestyle………..its a slow process with the massive hesitation from my husband. BUT my 4 kids are usually happy if it means they still get cake or biscuits πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the opportunity

  11. I would love a copy of the book. I have a chronic illness which has culminated in doctors prescribing a god awful medication regime which resulted in pain reduction but has left my skin, nails, hair and nerves completely destroyed. Now the medication producer is being taken to court for not disclosing aspects of the side affects. Just awful really. I am no longer on the medication and have realised that perhaps I can manage my illness better without drugs and am in the process of educating myself to take my healthy eating to the next level. I’d love this cookbook as I love to cook and who doesn’t love a beautiful gift/ giveaway!

  12. Haha! Great post Nic!! You know I’m just starting on this Thermomix cooking business so I guess the next step is to look into this whole food thing! Thanks for lending me Jude’s Wholefood For Children book maybe I should try some baking next πŸ™‚ xx

  13. She definitely sounds popular, I’d love to see what why! I’m keen to cook more nutritious, yet tasty snacks.
The picture on the front looks amazing – YUM!

  14. I love that we get to know you more with every post, I am giggling away because I have never even attempted a competition because I don’t know where to begin!

  15. Jude Blereau is a legend and I want to be just like her. I conduct cooking workshops and have a HealthyTasty Treats workshop coming up and I would love to display a couple of Judes new wholesome, delicious recipes to inspire the busy mums who attend, to create food at home rather than buy it out of a nutrient depleted packet : )

  16. I just don’t have enough time in the day to read everyone’s posts, I’m too busy cooking, cleaning and wiping bums…and I missed your post! This book is on my Mothers Day list (in my mind), although don’t know if it’ll be available at the Mothers Day stall at school!

  17. I would love to win this book for the simple reason that I like to bake and I like to bake healthy when I can – but I’m sick of hunting down recipes and then printing them off, only to have them smudged with cacao fingerprints and lost somewhere in my drawer. Having this book sounds like the kind of luxury item I dream of x

  18. Hi would love to win this book! Have recently been diagnosed with an auto immune disease and have totally re hauled my diet but haven’t quite got to working out alternatives for sweet options yet, and I have a sweet tooth! Would love some guidance! By the way just came across your blog and love it!

  19. Lol Nicola, you are so gorgeous! I remember thinking, yep, no time, will buy it! But seeing as its up for grabs with a comment….I would like this book to complete my Jude collection. I will be making sure I own this one way or another so I won’t feel bad if I don’t win! I will jump up and down and possibly pee my pants a little if I do win! πŸ˜‰ xxx

  20. Hello!
I would love to win this book as my children seem to be obsessed with not so healthy treats! I love cooking and baking and would love to make them nutritious treats that are actually healthy! Thanks for chance, this would be my very FIRST Jude book though I have been eyeing off the wholefood cookbook for a while now and I LOVE her blog!
    Amanda xx

  21. Jude is totally my new lady crush! Just a note to say you’re so cute – setting up competitions is definitely a learning experience, no? Been there, done that, too… xx

  22. Oh I saw this book and thought it looked great. How exciting for your first giveaway! I love any cookbook that has such a beautiful cake on the cover – wholefoods is doubly as good πŸ™‚

  23. I have 5 children and just celebrated my 38th birthday on the 8th May………….what a load it would take off if I could make healthy whole foods that my family would just EAT. πŸ™‚
