Back to the Grind

Today’s Mantra: Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone

A friend needed help with marketing. He wanted me.

For some reason that gave me fear.

I think it was the fear of change. How much time would it take up? Would I be bored? Would I fail?

I procrastinated and dreaded the meeting.

Yesterday the fateful meeting came and went unceremoniously. A quick tea at my place, explanation about his new business, Leo crawling all over the place because his naps didn’t quite time out…

As it came to a head I eyed him warily, “What do you need from me?”

Like all things in life, the build up was much worse than the reality.

He needed me to sort out his branding. Pretty much I have carte blanch. What do I think he needs? Can I sort it out? Sure.

Website? Easy.

Brochures/Business Cards/Logo/Look/Marketing blurbing?Is that all!

I have a new fun, creative project to work on and it will be over before I know it.

Going forward I think I need to work on believing in myself more and taking a leap, regardless of how scary, even if it means only opening my eyes when it is upon me.

  1. I completely understand this…I hold myself back sometimes and stick with doing the same old thing I know I’m good at (hello…3 children later)…I bet you will be brilliant!
